Low Country Dance

 


Low Country dance is widely practiced in the Southern Province of Sri Lanka. It is a very beautiful dance tradition. There are different types of spins and jumps in this dance form. It also includes fast movements. The main musical instrument used in this dance is the Yak Beraya drum. Some dance items use masks. Those masks are very beautiful and highly creative. The dancers wear beautiful and colorful costumes.It is a dance tradition that shows Sri Lankan identity to the world.
